MPTCP is an ongoing effort of the Internet Engineering Task Force's (IETF) Multipath TCP working group, that aims at allowing a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connection to use multiple paths (via TCP sub-flows) to maximize throughput and increase redundancy.
